Welcome to the Nine Mile Road Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study Reevaluation Website!

Escambia County, in association with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), is conducting a Project Development & Environment (PD&E) Study Reevaluation of proposed improvements for a two-mile section of Nine Mile Road (US 90A) from SR 297 (Pine Forest Road) to SR 95 (US 29). The study limits are shown on the map to the right.
The purpose of this reevaluation is to ensure project compliance with all applicable Federal and State laws and establish the validity of the existing environmental document and associated support studies prior to advancement of the project to the next major production phase. A reevaluation is necessary in order to assess alternative options to the previously approved 4-lane rural typical section.
The Study Overview section of this website describes the reevaluation process in
further detail.
